Watercolor Special Effects using Household Supplies

Hi everyone! My name is Eugenia and I have a passion for watercolours. For today's class, I decided to something simple and fun so everyone from all levels including beginners, may paint along. 

Watercolour is such a diverse and flexible medium which reacts in a special way when you combine certain objects. This class will be filled with several different watercolour special effect techniques for you to try out, and watch all the different reactions certain things like alcohol or soap may do to your watercolour paints. 

Throughout the class, I will be doing the techniques slowly for you to see, and where certain reactions take a while to come together, I will show you the timelapse, so even if you might not be able to follow along, you may see the reactions clearly. 

Certain watercolor brands react differently, and my recommended student brands to use for this class would be Pentel and Cotman. If you don't have these two brands however, it's still ok, but one of the techniques which requires sprinkling salt into your wet paint, might not react exactly as you want it to, as this certain technique is fairly complex because different watercolour has different filler properties which might react differently to salt.

Before we begin, I would recommend for students to watch the lessons before painting along, so you get to understand the stages of the paint that you would need for certain techniques. And this would also make your paint along much more relaxing as you will be aware of each thing that would be required within the lesson.
