This MOOC is aimed at understanding the impact of the new technology in the fashion sector which, over the last years, are including new practices in the project development process, in the production and in the final product. In particular two aspects are examined: customization and miniaturization. On one hand, the MOOC describes how the increased necessity of customization of the fashion product requires designers to comprehend how the intersection between product and service can be developed thanks to the technologies and digital manufacturing. On the other hand, it details why for designers it is important to comprehend how the miniaturization of sensors and technological components, such as wearable and smart textile can enhance people's experience.
