Free Online Course: Physics XII Part-I provided by Swayam is a comprehensive online course, which lasts for 24 weeks long. The course is taught in English and is free of charge. Upon completion of the course, you can receive an e-certificate from Swayam. Physics XII Part-I is taught by Anuradha Mathur.

Overview
  • Course - 03 in physics will cover very interesting phenomena observed by scientists and thinkers. The course explains the observations according to the currently accepted explanations. We will study concepts of static electricity where we will understand electric charges, electric fields and potentials. We will learn methods of describing electric fields and their applications. We will consider charges in motion, and the existence of magnetic field with every moving charge. The phenomenon of electromagnetic induction, study of which opens up a whole new world of physics. We will learn about two types of electricity which we use in our daily lives - direct current and alternating current. We will dwell on - how alternating current is generated, how it reaches our homes and how we use it for special purposes. Study of behaviour of circuit elements like resistors, capacitors inductors will help us design our own circuits for useful purposes. Our lives today are so dependent on electromagnetic waves and we will study about these in the course. This course has 5 units:ElectrostaticsCurrent ElectricityMagnetic Effects of Current and MagnetismElectromagnetic induction and alternating currentElectromagnetic wavesThe aim and design of the course is to develop a deeper understanding of different concepts in Physics. As you work through the course, you will find lecture videos, e-text, suggestions for problem solving methods, animations, practice questions, study guides. Assignments and Tests are provided to keep track of your achievements.
