Syllabus
  • Level 1 – Foundational Teaching Skills

    Week 1: Orienting the Learner
    This module will focus on the components of effective learner orientation, and suggest a strategy for orienting learners to their own clinical environment(s).

    Week 2: Checking In
    This module defines and describes ‘Checking In’ and its relevance for learning. It will describe methods of checking in with learners and demonstrate skills used for ‘checking in’.

    Week 3: Feedback 1: Doing It Right
    This module outlines how to provide effective feedback to learners. Emphasis will be placed on the elements of effective feedback and helpful techniques that can be used in practice.

    Week 4: Feedback 2: Adding Value
    This module will focus on adding value to feedback. It will stress the importance of both corrective and reinforcing feedback and will introduce three types of feedback.
