As a course for beginners, it will offer you an overview of chemical principles. To learn this course, you were assumed to have a solid basis of high-school science, including mathematics, physics and chemistry.
The course is assigned for learners-on-web who will not enter the realistic classroom. Therefore some exercises are compiled for the self-examination of understanding.
The course is one of the PKU-DeTao MOOCs, which is a jointeffort by Peking University and DeTao MastersAcademy.

大学化学授课对象主要为理、工、医科等非化学类本科生。本课程的目标是通过化学原理的学习，使学生初步了解现代化学的基本概念和原理，并能应用所学知识初步解决一些实际化学问题。每节课后有一定数量的习题作业。某些章节有供学生交流讨论的开放性讨论题。
该课程是“北大-德稻网络开放课程”中的一门，由北京大学与德稻教育联合提供。
