AWS Server Migration Service (SMS) Primer

In this course, you will prepare to use AWS Server Migration Service (AWS SMS) for migrating servers or VMWare virtual machines to Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will also review how to migrate from Microsoft Azure to AWS. This course will provide you with a step-by-step guide through the entire migration process with AWS SMS. Complete this training if you will use AWS SMS or are actively working on migration projects using AWS SMS.

Course objectives

In this course, you will learn to:

• Describe the use cases for which you can use AWS SMS

• Configure Server Migration Connectors for migrating VMware virtual machines (VMs) or Azure to AWS

• Perform the step-by-step process of using AWS SMS

• Set up one-time or incremental replication of servers from source environments to AWS

• Migrate a group of servers as an application, and automate the launch and validation of the migrated application
